What we collect and why
We collect only the information we need to provide, secure, and improve Kuli Kuli.
Identity and access
When you sign up for Kuli Kuli, we use Apple Login on iOS and Google Login on Android. We use the email address provided by Apple or Google, including private relay addresses if you choose to hide your real email address with Apple, and the account identifier provided by the login provider to identify you. This lets you personalize your account and allows us to send essential product notices. We may also send optional surveys to help us understand how people use our products and where we can improve. We do not sell your personal information, and we will not use your name or company in marketing without your permission.
Billing information
If you purchase a paid Kuli Kuli membership, you may be asked to provide payment information and a billing address. Payment card information is submitted directly to our payment processors, such as Apple and Google Play Store, and does not pass through Kuli Kuli servers. We keep a record of the payment transaction, excluding the card number, for account history, invoicing, and billing support. We use billing information to charge you for the service, calculate applicable taxes, send invoices, and detect fraudulent transactions.
Product interactions
We store translation data, explanation data, and images that do not contain account-identifying personal data on our servers. This information is strongly encrypted and is used so Kuli Kuli can function as intended.
General geolocation data
We log the full IP address used to create a product account and retain it to help prevent spam and abuse. We also log account access by full IP address for security and support purposes, and we retain this login data while your account remains active.
App interactions
We collect information about app activity for analytics and statistical purposes, including conversion testing and product design experiments. This may include device model, operating system version, IP address, features used, load times, and the website or app that referred you to us. If you are signed in, app analytics may be associated with your IP address and account while the account is active.
When we access or disclose your information
No If Tech employee reviews your content except for limited purposes and with your express permission, such as troubleshooting a translation error involving your images. These situations are rare, and when they occur we work to identify the underlying cause and prevent recurrence. We may also access or disclose information when required to respond to valid legal process.
Your rights with respect to your information
We aim to provide the same core data rights to all customers, regardless of where they live. These rights may include:
- Right to know. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it. This policy describes both the categories of information we collect and the purposes for which we use them.
- Right of access. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to receive information about how it is shared, stored, secured, and processed.
- Right to correction. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.

Depending on the sensitivity of the information and the nature of the request, this may include verifying your email address or Google account. If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to fulfill the request.
How we secure your data
Data transmitted between our servers and your app is encrypted using SSL/TLS.
What happens when you delete content
Kuli Kuli allows you to trash content. Content you trash is removed immediately, cannot be accessed through the application, and cannot be restored by us.
If you cancel your account, your content will become inaccessible immediately and should be fully purged from our systems within 60 days.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. Retention periods depend on why the information was collected, how it is used, and your choices. After that period, we may delete or aggregate the information. We may also retain and use information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act and will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act compliance
We do not knowingly collect or maintain information from anyone under 13 through our website, and no part of our website is designed to attract anyone under 13.

By using our services and providing information to us, you authorize us to collect, use, process, and store your information outside the European Union. Information may be processed, stored, and used outside the country where you are located.
